Restaurant millwork, built in Toronto.
Leewood Finishing builds the millwork in quick-service restaurants: the cash desk, the back counter behind it, the countertops on both, and the shelving and built-ins around them.
Everything is drawn and built in our 40,000 square foot shop on Iron Street in Toronto, then installed by our own carpenters across the GTA or crated and shipped for your installer.
- Cash desks and front service counters
- Back counters and storage cabinetry
- Solid-surface countertops
- Open shelving and merchandise walls
- Other built-ins, to your drawings
Two ice cream shops, Brampton and Oakville.
We built the cash desks, back counters and solid-surface countertops in both stores, and the open shelving wall in the Oakville store.
What the counters are made of.
Both ice cream shops have solid-surface countertops. For cabinet fronts and faces we work in high-pressure laminate, wood veneer, and paint or lacquer sprayed in our own shop. Your drawings or brand standard decide which goes where.
From shop drawings to opening day.
Drawings first. We produce shop drawings from your design intent: an architectural set, a franchise brand standard, or a floor plan and a conversation. Everything is dimensioned and approved before a sheet is cut.
Then the floor. Cutting, edgebanding and assembly run in-house. Counters and cabinetry are built to the approved drawings.
Then site. In the GTA we deliver and install, coordinating with the general contractor and the site schedule. Outside the GTA we ship crated and ready to install.
Restaurant millwork questions.
What millwork does a quick-service restaurant need?
Usually a cash desk or front counter, a back counter behind it, countertops for both, and shelving or display for anything sold off the wall. We build all of it in one shop, so the pieces match.
What countertop material do you use for restaurant counters?
On the two ice cream shops shown here, solid surface. We also build in high-pressure laminate where the design or the budget calls for it. Your drawings or brand standard set the spec.
Have you built restaurant millwork before?
Yes: the two ice cream shops on this page, in Brampton and Oakville. Most of our commercial work is store fixtures and office millwork, built in the same shop with the same drawings-first process.
Do you work from our drawings or a franchise brand standard?
Either. If you have an architectural set, we produce shop drawings from it and submit them for approval. If you have a brand standard and a floor plan, we can develop the counters with you. Nothing gets built until dimensioned shop drawings are signed off.
Can you build the same counters for more than one location?
Yes. It's how we run retail fixture rollouts: one approved drawing set, built to a fixed standard for every store.
Do you install, or supply only?
Both. In the GTA, our own carpenters install and coordinate directly with the general contractor. Outside the GTA, we ship crated, labelled and ready to install, and work with your installer.
What's a realistic lead time?
It depends on the scope, the materials and how quickly shop drawings are approved. Send the scope and we will give you a real date, not an optimistic one.
Where do you work?
Everything is built in Toronto. We supply and install across the GTA, and ship crated packages anywhere in Canada and the US.
